MORPHE SHADOW HAUL

Tuesday, February 16, 2016

After waiting and waiting I thought it was finally time to treat myself and buy my first set of MORPHE single shadows. I purchased these off cocktail cosmetics as this is a really good uk website to by cosmetics off, each shadow is priced at £2.35 which is an amazing price for such good quality shadows.

I decided to by a range of finishes and colours ranging from neutrals to foils to matte and purples. I also managed to get some of the new colours which have just launched, it is all very exciting.

INDIVIDUAL SHADOWS

ICE- this has to be my least favourite out of all the shadows I have purchased. I thought this was going to be a nice pearl, foil shade which would be amazing for inner corner highlight. However when I swatched this and was immediately disappointed with the little pay off it had. This was clearly a frost finish. I think this would have a better pay off if I had darker skin however I'm very pale so it just blended in with my skin.

PEANUT- this was one of the launches from the new MORPHE single shadow collection. I bought this because this looked like a gorgeous warm neutral shade which would be the perfect transition shade. When I swatched this I knew this would be my new go to shade for everyday makeup. The formulation of the matte shadows are incredible! They have such a nice texture and just glide on. The matte shades can make any eye look ten times more extreme and vivid. I like putting this shade all over my lid after priming my eyes, this sets the lids as well as making further shadows easier to blend.

MOCHA- this is one of my favourite shadows which I have purchased. You might think this is just an ordinary matte brown shade which I though when I ordered I though 'why do I need yet another matte brown', however when this arrived and had been played with it did not disappoint. This has been part of my everyday makeup routine since arriving in the post. It looks amazing through the crease for definition as well as all over the lid for an evening smoky eye. Another tip this is an amazing brow powder if you have dark brown hair. The pigmentation and longevity of this product will not let you down as a brown powder either.

FLAME- this colour is mainly the reason I had made this MORPHE order and it was definitely worth it! With the hype of the 35O palette being around I could never get my hands on it because it is so popular. This shadow looked like it featured in the 35O so I put it in my order immediately. The name of the shade describes it perfectly it is a bright orange flame colour in a matte formula. This is now my all time favourite shadow this looks amazing with mocha and peanut. This brings Immense warmth to any to any eye look.

DAZZLING- this is one of the shadows I got very excited about when I had swatched it. This is a beautiful golden shade however the formulation of this is very similar to the makeup geek foiled shadows. One swipe of this and the pay off was so incredible, the foile effect looks amazing when you use a wet brush. This is a shadow that will last all night.

MAGIC- this was the other foiled finish shadow I had purchased. This is also a gorgeous purple shadow which will be amazing for a nighttime as well as Halloween. This is a deep purple shade and has beautiful pink flecks when the light hits it.

PRIVATE AGENT- this is another matte formula and this is such a wearable purple shade. This is a dark purple with a brown undertone. I will be wearing this shade a lot on its own as this shadow will look amazing alone paired with extreme lashes.

RADIANCE- this is also a purple shade however I'm not a fan of this shade. I thought this was going to be another foiled finish however the website does not specify the finish of each shadow, this shadow is more of a frost finish so it doesn't have much pay off.

I HEART YOU- this is very similar to private agent this is another one of those wearable dark purples with a taupe undertone. This would look amazing with silver glitter shadows. Also this is such a gorgeous taupe shade which would also look beautiful for Valentine's Day. I haven't tried out any of the purple shades however I will be wearing them in the very near future.
